Jared Casey is a 6’2” 225 pound man-child out of Louisville, KY. Casey plays middle linebacker for the Ballard Bruins, but has the build of an SEC-ready linebacker already. Casey’s recruiting blew up after a good showing at the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp, receiving glowing reviews of a “player with a mean streak”. That’s pretty fitting for a player who models his game after Von Miller. The 4 star ILB currently holds offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Oregon and Purdue among others.
Casey visited Kentucky this past Friday and as KSR reported, he enjoyed it enough to come back again soon. When asked how the visit went and what Kentucky’s biggest pitch was, Casey said: “The visit was great, Coach Marrow was telling me how they develop LB’s and how many of them are in the NFL right now. Marrow was a sticking point in Casey’s review of the visit, saying that his favorite thing about his visit to Lexington was “Spending time with Coach’s Marrow and seeing the facilities.” Marrow has recently taken over as the head man for in-state recruiting.

As for his future plans, Casey says that he’ll be taking official visits to Oregon and Syracuse, but the dates are still in the works. “With offers coming in, it’s hard to make a short list right now, but UK would definitely be on it.” It’s a good sign that there’s definitely no bad blood towards the Cats from Casey, who was raised in a UofL family. Casey plans to commit somewhere sometime mid-season.
