KSI caught up with Florida defensive back/receiver Major Williams over the weekend. Williams is a 3 star player from Dunbar Highschool, the same high school that Kentucky decommit Shocky Jacques-Louis played for last season. Kentucky recently offered Williams, who is currently committed to Virginia.
Q: What was your initial reaction when you first received your offer from Kentucky?
A: When I first got the offer, it felt like…it was something that I knew was coming because they’ve been on me for awhile now. I just knew I was an SEC caliber player and I’d be able to play in that conference. It was a good feeling.
Q: Did UK recruit you whenever they recruited Shocky?
A: Yessir. I knew I just had to be patient and wait it out.
Q: Are they recruiting you as a wide receiver or DB?
A: I’m being recruited as a DB. I can run also, I mean I can do it all honestly, but I’ll most likely be a DB.
Q: Was UK your first SEC offer?
Q: Are you planning to visit Lexington?
A: Yessir. I’ll be visiting this summer around June. I’ll be coming up with Derick Hunter (2019 Dunbar DE, ranked 95th in the country) and Seneca Milledge (2019 Dunbar ATH, committed to UVA).
Q: Are you friends with anyone on UK’s current roster?
A: No sir, but I follow a few of their players on twitter.
Q: What stuck out to you about UK from other schools?
A: I can tell they’re loyal to their players. When Shocky was getting recruited, Coach Hinshaw was down here a lot and his face was getting familiar like he was a coach here at Dunbar. It’s like family up there.
Q: Which teams are recruiting you the hardest?
A: Virginia, of course. Kentucky, Maryland, USF, Iowa State. I’m also getting recruited hard by some other schools that haven’t offered me yet. I just have to be patient.
