Friday Football Fix

  • To start off, let’s start with Denzil Ware. Ware has committed to Jacksonville State to finish up his career as a grad transfer. KSI has heard from reliable sources that Ware was more or less “shown the door” at UK. The coaching staff allowed him to save face by taking the grad-transfer route. He has family in Jacksonville and his cousin plays for Jacksonville State. Let’s all wish him well and that he dominates for the Gamecocks.
  • The Wildcats picked up a commitment from 3 star in-state product Eli Cox. At 6’4”, 292 pounds, the West Jessamine product has the frame to add size onto and also has good technique in pass blocking sets. Cox will add more offers as the days go by, but he’ll stick with the Cats. He had offers from Marshall and Cincinnati.

  • Emile Aime (2021 LB, Florida) Offers from Louisville, Ole Miss and Michigan.
  • Chico Bennett (2019 WR, Tennessee) Offers from Louisville, Indiana, Georgia Tech.
  • Jaden Hardy (2020 DT, Georgia) Kentucky is Hardy’s first power 5 offer.
  • Jha’Quan Jackson (2019 ATH, Louisiana) Offers from West Virginia, SMU, Southern Miss.
  • Jaden Jenkins (2019 QB, Georgia) Kentucky is Jenkins’ first power 5 offer.
  • Antonio Johnson (2020 ATH, Illinois) Offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Missouri and Virginia Tech.
  • Jason Marshall (2021 WR, Florida) Offers from Nebraska, Georgia and Miami.
  • Lawaun Powell (2020 WR, Illinois) Offer from Virgina Tech.
  • Rico Powers (2020 WR, Georgia) Offers from Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
  • Malcolm Ray (2019 DE, Florida) Offers from Syracuse and Louisville.
  • Chris Scruggs Jr (2019 WR, Florida) Committed to Southern Miss.
  • Marcus Tate (2021 OT, Florida) Offers from Miami, Texas A&M, LSU, Louisville and Tennessee.
  • Dallas Turner (2021 DE, Florida) Offer from LSU.
  • Major Williams (2019 WR, Florida) Committed to Virginia.

Young guys that impressed in spring practice are Tyrell Aijan, Davonte Robinson and DeAndre Square. There’s been multiple people raving about Square’s potential.

Expect Terry Wilson to get the starting nod at QB. A player on the current roster told KSI that he compares Wilson’s game to Dennis Dixon, the ex-Oregon Duck.

As of right now, Kentucky leads for 2020 Lexington QB phenom Beau Allen. In the end, Allen will more than likely be a Cat. This could be the first big time high school QB commit for the Cats in quite some time. Kentucky has missed out on these types of prospects for the last few years.
