Coach Calipari has kicked ass on the recruiting trail ever since he got to Kentucky in 2009. He’s had a multitude of number 1 classes, classes with almost half of the top 10 players, and a class with the top 2 recruits in the country in Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Anthony Davis. Even with all of these impressive feats, could his best recruiting job be on the horizon?

James Wiseman, the number two player in the country, told Adam Zagoria that he could see himself playing alongside the number one player in the country, Vernon Carey. For the longest time, there wasn’t a thought of these two big men playing alongside each other. That sounds like it may have changed with a re-energized Coach Cal, who has been hot on the recruiting trail this off-season. He’s visited Wiseman multiple times in addition to visiting Carey.

Wiseman’s and Carey’s games compliment each other very well, so it’s not hard to envision them playing off of one another. Wiseman is a skilled power forward with soft touch around the rim and a smooth jumper. He’s also an elite rim protector. Carey is a mammoth in the paint…think of a more polished DeMarcus Cousins at the highschool level. He’s a ferocious rebounder but can also put the ball on the floor and step away for a jumper. He’s the most college-ready high school prospect period as of right now outside of RJ Barrett.

Could the 2019-2020 feature the best college front court in recent memory?
